This spark plug uses a two-ground-electrode firing-end design. Compared with a conventional single-ground spark plug, the additional ground electrode provides another available discharge path around the center electrode.
The two electrodes do not produce two sparks at the same time. During each ignition event, only one spark is generated. As the plug operates, the discharge path can occur through different ground-electrode surfaces, helping distribute wear across the firing end.

Designed Around the Required Spark Plug Configuration
Ground-electrode quantity is part of the spark plug's overall firing-end design. A twin-ground spark plug should therefore be selected according to the required product reference and engine specification rather than simply by appearance.
Factors such as electrode arrangement, spark gap, heat characteristics and installation dimensions all form part of correct spark plug matching. Unless these specifications are confirmed, a visually similar single-ground or multi-ground spark plug should not automatically be treated as equivalent.
